- PhD in Forensic Linguistics from Aston University (Birmingham, United Kingdom).
- Author and co-author of several articles on (computational) authorship analysis, plagiarism detection, disinformation, hate speech, and the analysis of cybercriminal communications.
- Co-editor of the bilingual international journal Language and Law - Linguagem e Direito and the 2nd edition of The Routledge Handbook of Forensic Linguistics.

- Assistant Professor at the Faculty of Arts and Humanities, researcher, and Scientific Coordinator of the Linguistics Centre of the University of Porto (CLUP), where he has been conducting research in Forensic Linguistics, particularly in the areas of authorship analysis, plagiarism detection, and cybercrime.
- Coordinator of the Specialisation Course in Forensic Linguistics, President of the General Assembly of the APCF, and Coordinator of the Forensic Linguistics division of the Association.
- Former coordinator of the Computational Linguistics working group for the COST Action LITHME - Language in the Human-Machine Era (2021-2024).
