Joined the Portuguese Judicial Police in 2000, where she serves as a Scientific Police Specialist in the Drugs and Toxicology Sector of the Scientific Police Laboratory, Northern Directorate.
Has been a member of the jury in public recruitment competitions for Scientific Police Specialists for the respective laboratory.
Collaborated in the establishment of EMATX (Madeira Extension for Toxicology) of the Scientific Police Laboratory of the Portuguese Judicial Police.
Previously, performed forensic duties as a contracted senior technician at the headquarters of the Scientific Police Laboratory of the Portuguese Judicial Police. Also worked as a Physics and Chemistry teacher and as a consultant in the area of quality management system implementation.
BIO
Holds a degree in Chemistry, scientific branch, from the Faculty of Science and Technology at the University of Coimbra.
Has been a speaker at Scientific Police Conferences, with posters presented at both national and international conferences and congresses.
Has completed various specialised training courses in her field and participated in ENFSI DWG meetings, as well as in numerous seminars and conferences on a national and international level. These include topics such as addiction behaviours and dependencies (promoted by Lisbon Addictions), the dismantling of clandestine laboratories, synthetic drugs, laboratory accreditation, and the "Forensic Drug Chemistry" course delivered by the DEA in the United States of America.
Participated in a Europol meeting, where she presented a case subject to forensic analysis, including the conclusions drawn from it.
Took part in an international exchange programme in the field of forensic sciences.
Attended and completed a trainer training course.
Member of national and international scientific societies related to her field of study and practice.
