- Graduated in Chemistry (1992).
- PhD in Organic Chemistry (1996) from the Faculty of Sciences, University of Lisbon.

Cco-author of approximately 60 scientific articles and 100 presentations.

CV

- Researcher in the Department of Chemical Industries Technology at the National Institute of Energy and Geology (1998–2011).
- Lecturer at Universidade Lusófona de Lisboa (ULHT) (2000–2013), the Naval School (2002–2004), and the School of Tourism and Maritime Technology at the Polytechnic of Leiria (ESTM-PLeiria) (2017–2019).
- Since 2011, has been teaching in the Department of Chemistry and Biochemistry at the Faculty of Sciences, University of Lisbon, initially as an Invited Researcher and, since 2020, as an Assistant Professor.
- Principal Investigator at the Institute of Biosystems and Integrative Sciences (BioISI), where coordinates the Mass Spectrometry Analytical Services Laboratory and leads the research group on Natural Products and Forensic Chemistry. 
- This group focuses on the discovery of new bioactive natural products as well as the synthesis, identification, metabolic profiling, and toxicity assessment of New Psychoactive Substances (NPS).
- Since 2014, has been collaborating with the Scientific Police Laboratory of the Judiciary Police (LPC-PJ) in the identification of NPS through technical expertise and, more recently, with the Drug Checking laboratory at Kosmicare.
