- PhD in Toxicology from FFUP in 2007.
- Since 2002, has taught various Toxicology modules, in the analytical, clinical, and forensic fields, in several Master's and PhD programmes at the University of Porto.
Her research interests and scientific publications focus on two main areas: (i) the use of in vitro models to evaluate toxicity mechanisms (with applications in drugs of abuse, new psychoactive substances, and nanomaterials) and (ii) the validation and implementation of analytical methodologies to support toxicokinetic studies.

- Member of the EFSA Nanotechnology Network since 2015 and also a member of the Ethics Committee of FFUP.
