- Graduated in Dentistry from the Faculty of Dentistry, University of Porto (FMDUP).
- Holds a PhD in Dentistry from FMDUP and has obtained the Habilitation (Agregado) from the same institution.

Has extensive experience in the forensic field, being an expert at the National Institute of Legal Medicine and Forensic Sciences.
Her work focuses on medicine, dentistry, and forensic anthropology.
Her research areas cover various forensic contexts, having published over 60 scientific articles and supervised several Master's and PhD dissertations.
