- Graduated in Biology from the University of Málaga.
- PhD in Cellular and Molecular Biology from the University of Paris Pierre et Marie Curie.
- Postgraduate qualification in Forensic Anthropology from the University of Coimbra. He is also a member of the Forensic and Biomedical Sciences Research Laboratory (1H-TOXRUN, IUCS-CESPU) and the Unit of Applied Molecular Biosciences (UCIBIO).
- Since 2012, he has focused his research on Forensic Dentistry, where he has numerous publications.
